Bio
Zach Gitschier becomes the 5th Field Manager in Sea Unicorns history after spending the 2025 season as the team’s Pitching Coach. Gitschier recently became the pitching coach at UMass-Lowell following a season on the coaching staff at Saint Anselm College. He also spent the 2024 season as the pitching coach for the Westfield Starfires.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Gitschier played collegiate baseball at Clark University and Southern New Hampshire University. Having already earned his Bachelor’s (Mathematics and Spanish from Clark) and Master’s (Education and Teaching from SNHU) Degrees, Gitschier is one step away from completing the requirements for his Doctoral (Educational Leadership and Administration) Degree at SNHU. He also is a high school math teacher at Greater Lowell Technical High School in Massachusetts.
A native of Lowell, MA, Gitschier also spent time playing in the Futures League with the Nashua Silver Knights.
