Lee Walter Jr. begins his third year as General Manager of the Sea Unicorns after being promoted to the position on January 10, 2022. Walter joined the Sea Unicorns front office in November 2018 as Business Development Manager and was promoted to Director of Business Development & Stadium Operations in June of 2021. Walter also spent three years (2016-2018) as a Game Day employee of the then Connecticut Tigers, working in the press box and with the Grounds Crew.
Since receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Eastern Connecticut State University in 1999, he has worked in various capacities in both sales and sports. In his role with the Sea Unicorns, Walter has had the chance to combine his passion for working in sports with his sales background. Walter also made time to earn his Master’s Degree in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2018.
Originally from Waterbury, CT, Walter spent two seasons as an undergraduate Assistant Baseball Coach under legendary former head coach Bill Holowaty, including the 1998 National Championship season. Having lived in the greater Willimantic area since his days as an undergraduate at ECSU, he and his wife currently reside in North Windham and they enjoy spending time hanging out with their family and friends, traveling to different baseball stadiums, breweries and vineyards, and finding other unique destinations to visit. Walter also enjoys playing golf when time permits and watching his kids participate in sports and other events.
