Wednesday night’s game vs the Silver Knights was anything but ordinary at Dodd Stadium. A series of delays from lightning, to rain and nearly a skunk on field prompted the contest to start an hour behind schedule.

Nashua was able to take advantage of the delay early, scoring one run to start the game. They would hold the lead until the third when Dean Ferrara scored Ben Jerome from third with a putout.

What followed was an offensive attack by the Sea Unicorns, scoring seven unanswered runs to assist a dominant relief appearance by Christo Garrelts. He would be named Futures League Pitcher of the Night for his work.

In the fourth inning, Andrew Bianco started the offense with a solo homerun. His four homers tie him for second most in the league. DJ Perron would continue to stay hot, scoring Zac Zyons with a single to left. Perron would later score in the inning off a fielder’s choice.

The seventh inning would be the final nail in the coffin for the Silver Knights as Norwich would capitalize to the tune of four unearned runs. Nashua would score two in the eighth although Norwich would answer right back with two of their own.

The Silver Knights would score one in the ninth which wouldn’t make a difference. Your final score, Sea Unicorns 10, Silver Knights 4.

Highlights of the game saw DJ Perron, Austin Bohlman, and Dean Ferrara each have two RBI’s respectively. Christo Garrelts five innings of three hit ball gave him his first win.

The Sea Unicorns now travel to Holman Stadium looking for a two game sweep of Nashua.
